The IMU was established in July 2018 and reports to the RSPO Secretariat’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). The IMU consists of an Investigation Manager, a Risk Management & Monitoring Assistant Manager, and a Geographic Information System (GIS) Manager. The main role of the IMU is to conduct investigations and facilitate risk mitigation through close collaboration with other departments within the RSPO Secretariat and relevant stakeholders

 

Scope of work of the IMU:

Investigation

The IMU  conducts on-site and off-site investigations to verify the compliance of RSPO members.

Monitoring

IMU continues to monitor investigations, post complaints and risk treatment plans.

GIS

GIS actively monitors environmental risks within RSPO concessions such as deforestation and hotpots
